McKay Lid, Lxchange Mart, Invercargill, report as follows Business has been considerably better during the week, due no doubt to the visit of the Fleet bringing an influx of visitors to the town Good dessert apples meet a ready de, mand, principally Delicious, and for some very nice samples good prices are being obtained. Nice samples of Cleopatra would sell readily and we recommend consignments. A few Stunners have come forward but the demand so far is very poor, fruiterers not requiring these while there is an abundance of coloured apples available. Some tiice consignments of Winter Nclis pears came forward during the week and sold on arrival. The fruit was in splendid condition and a big percentage ready for sale, tjuinces are in full supply and a few tomatoes continue to arrive and realise satisfactory prices. Current prices— Apples, Delicious 9s to 12s, Jonathans 7s to 9s 6d, Cleos 6s 6d to Bs6d, Scarlets 5s to 7s, cookers qs to 7?. Fears, best decsert to 3d, cookers 1 to edper lb. tjuinccs t )4d to 2d.
