M;',s Jane Blackie Gibb, aged 54 resident of Roslyn was found drowned in a reservoir, she had been ill. Anthony Page, single, aged 72 died at Christchurch as a result of a piece of mutton bone sticking in his throat, causing gangrene followed by septic pneumonia. The coroner expressed the opinion that the doctor called in should have used the X Raysis in a terrible plight, the irregulars control the town. There is no coal or gas and people are on the brink of starvation. The free state government has rejected the irregulars armistice proposals demanding unconditional surrender.
