Only about a dozen people were present at a pruning demonstratidh given by Mr Goodwin, N at Mr Anscombe’s orchard, Clyde, on Wednesday afternoon last- 'I his apparent indifference on the part of the orchardists, was due to a characteristic oversight on the part of the Dept, the only intimation given of the demonstration being an advertisement in our Alexandra contemporary, published the same afternoon as the demonstration. Nuff sed! Our Moa Creek correspondent writes: — On Thursday 20th- the first lamb made its appearance at Moa Creek. The weather continues frosty but to-day there seems to be a change approaching there is an east wind but the bright sunshine still continues. The roads are slowly improving but they require a spell of warmer weather to put them rightThe Co-operative Fruitgrowers of Otago Ltd., has purchased the site and property known as the Pier Hotel. This property has three frontages— Crawford, Jetty, and Bond, streets, and it is the intention of directors to build up-to-date fruit auction rooms designed to suit the requirements of their increasing business, The lease of their present premises does not expire till September 1923 by which time the new premises snould be ready, Wright Stephenson and Co, Ltd. report large catalogues of rabbitskins. Competition was fairly keen throughout but prices were slightly easier. Incomingwinters, however were keenly sought after and prices for these were a shade firmer.
