Strouach, Morris A Company Ltd., report for week ending 30tn Juno as follows ; Fat Sheep.—There were 3122 yarded, being of very poor quality all through. A largo proportion of the yarding was ewes, with only a tew pens of prime wethers and ewes. Good wethers sold at an advance, and others were equal to last week’s rates, but medium wethers and ewes were much the same. Quotes—Best wethers 16/0 to 17/3 ; extra to 19s 3d. medium to good 13s 6d to 14/6, light and inferior 11s 6d to 12s 6d ; best ewes 12s 6d to 13s 6d; extra to 17s Od ; medium 9s to 11s ; light and inferior 5/0 to 8/0. Fat Lambs—There were 2083 penned, all good quality. There was keen competition from exporters, and prices realised were much much about tire same as at week’s sale. Quotations—Best lambs from 13s 6d to 14s 0d; extra 15s to 17s Od, medium 11s 6d to 12s 6d, stores 6s Od to 10a Od. Fat Cattle. very fair quality. Prime quality cattle were in good demand at an advance on last week’s rates. Rabbitskins—We offered an exceptionally large catalogue at Monday’s sale, when tiiere was a large attendance of buyers. The competition for all kinds of skin was hardly so good as last week, and prices were not so extreme as on that occasion. However all kinds sold well and vendors will undoubtedly be pleased with the results. Best winter does 30d to 32d ; medium to good 26d to 28$ d ; mixed bucks and does 17Jd to 22d ; incoming winters 14$ d to 16d ; best autumns 12$dto 14fd ; spring bucks B|d to 13d, spring does 8d to 12d, winter blacks to 19|d, fawns to |4d, racks to lOd horsehair to IBd. We can recommend consignments. Hides. We held our usual fortuiglrtly sale on Thursday, 27th inst., when we submitted a medium catalogue. Competition was keen, and we have to report a very satisfactory sale, Quotations—Prime stout heavy ox hides 7d to 7sd, good heavy 6sd to 7d, light ssd to 6Jd, inferior 2sd to 4d, best heavy cow hides sfd to 6sd,‘medium osd light 5d to ssd, inferior 3gd to 4Jd, yearlings to ogd, calfskins s§d to Bgd, horse hides to 9s 9d each. Sheepskins. —We held our fortnightly sale to-day when we offered a good catalogue. The attendance of buyers was larger than usual and bidding was very brisk for all classes of skins, prices beimr fully up to late rates. For a good line of fine $-bred we received a shade over 9d per lb, being the highest price paid in Dunedin so fat this season for sbred. Best $-bred, 7sd to 9d ; medium to good 6sd to 7sd ; inferior 3sd to 4sd ; best fine x-bred 6sd to 7sd ; medium to good ssd to 6sd ; inferior 4d to 5d ; best merino 6d to 7sd ; medium to good 3sd to 4sd ; pelts 3d to 3sd ; best lambskins 4sd to 6sd ; medium to good 3d to 4d. Straw—Quotations-Oaten 32s 6d to 355; wheateu ,30s to 32s 6d per ton (pressed). Tallow & Fat.—Prices are much the same as at last week’s report, all coming forward being readily disposed of. Oats,— During the past week the demand has not been so keen and prices have been somewhat easier. W© quote Prime milling 1/6$ to 1/7$ good to best feed I(4s to 1/ss; inferior to medium 1/3 to 1/4 per bushel (sacks extra).
