+ THE THIRD TEST MATCH. AUSTRALIA WIN BY 126 RUNS, Australia made 188 in their first innings. For the second day’s play lovely weather prevailed. The Englishmen’s overnight score was 88 for two wickets. Sharp batted powerfully and knocked up 50 out of the first 01 runs. He hit three fours in succession off Armstrong. Tyldesley showed masterly defence, but it took him 135 minutes to reach the half century. At 130 Macartney came on in place of Armstrong and altered the phase of the game. He found a “ spot ” and disposed of the latter batsman easily. He got four wickets to-day for 20 runs.
