TESTING BOILERS.
LONDON, August 26.
The official report, of Ihe recent boiler test by the cruisers Minerva and Hyacinth says that the Hyacinth's leaky joints caused a very serious loss of water. The Minerva's tubes choked. The extreme coal endurance of either vessel at 7,000 horse-power was proved to be about 3,000 miles. Thus they can steam 1,500 miles and return to their base.
