Dunstan Hospital.
iThe regular monthy meeting of the trustees of the above hospital was held in Clyde on Friday, Dec. 7th. Present—Messrs L. D. Macgeor<re (chairman), J. E. Stevens, J. Wilson, B. Naylor, and M' Manus. The minutes of the previous . meeting were read and confirmed. The following correspondence was read and received From the architect to the effect that the contractor would start work on the alterations i.i the work as "pointed out by him, and finish about the 20th inst. Mr J. E. Stevens reported that he had attended the hospital to investigate into the co:np.aint of Mr W». H. Booth about the treatment accorded him. After hearingßooih the surgeon, and also the yvardsinan, hehadcome to Ihe conclusion that there wore no ro uids for the com- ; plaint on the-score oi eith :r medical or general treatment, and the charge devolved itself into a statement that " on the first occasion of his visiting the hospital he was accused of being drunk and using-violent language, and on the subsequent visit, when he was admitted as a patie u, he had t left on his own accord ; his only ' ground of complaint being that the Wpiace »as too quiet for him.—ihe /report wa> received. f fed The Viaiting Committee reported cvecythi.ig satisfactory. , The surgeon's report was read a\id received. / Accounts and salaries, lor the past month, amounting to £49 t3» ~°> were-passed for payment. The , committee, however, yet hope to increase the amount already re-, ceived. Notice of motion by Mr Stevens —That the wardsman, matron and servant be given three months notice, dating from Ist January 1901 that their services be dispensed with and that, applications be invited for a duly qualified matron a duly qualified nurse, a housemaid and a gardener, to take their places —Seconded by Mr Naylor. After a general review of the subject it was decided to further consider the question at an adjourned meeting to be held on the 18th inst., at 8 p.m. The meeting was adjourned accordingly.
