Dunedin, November 18. The Legislative Council yesterday read the ‘Sunday Labor in Mines Bill’ for the first time. The House continues worrying the Estimates. They sat yesterday until 3 o’clock this morning continuously, having sat for 34 hours with the ex* ception of mealtimes. The Estimates are now finished.
The demands of the Opposition have been practically conceded the Govern* ment having agreed to give the Opposition fair representation on sessional commiHe' ,v .
MrTavlor charged the Minister foi Defence vested day. when the Police Estimites were being considered, with permit'ing sellers both in Tapanui and Clutha, to all iw their names to continue on list of Ja.P.
The Banking Bill and Municipal Corporations Bill are likely to be diopned this Session, The Opposition are very jubilant at What they consider a big victory in foiling the Government to comply with their demands yesterday. This result was amved at as a result or the confeience between the Premier and Captain Bussell, at the dinner adjournment, Mr Seddon made the announcement in resuming, and Captain Russell staled that what the Premier stated was correct. After this the balance of Ihe Estimates was passed without much alteration;
