ENGLISH NEWS.
The following is a summary of the news brought by the P. and 0. Company’s steamer Siam. The reign of terror in Russia still continues. Numerous incendiary fires are reported, and numerous arrests of Nihilists of both sexes have taken place. A plot has been discovered to destroy several large cities by lire. The eruption of Mount Etna continues. Several villages have been overflowed by lava, but no loss of life is reported. Burmese news 'is reassuring. Reports of the hostile attitude of the King are groundless. A dreadful famine is raging at Cashmere. The movements of the Uceoiti in Bombay Presidency have collapsed. Yakoob Khan has returned to Cabul. Colonel Cavagnari has been appointed British resident in Cabul,
