London, July 19.
Two hundred Peers, including Lord Salisbury and the Archbishop of York, attended the trial of Earl Russell, which was a picturesque spectacle. Lord Salisbury over-ruled the objection in regard to jurisdiction. Earl Russell, in pleading guilty, said that he had erred in ignorance and been subject to great provocation.
The Court returned a unanimous verdict of guilty, admitting provocation. Earl Russl'U was sent to Holloway for three months.
