THE LIBERAL SPLIT.

Remarkable Letter from Lord Rosebery.

United Press Association.

By Electric leXcgraph — Copyright

(Received July 18, 1 a.m.)

London, July 17.

A remarkable letter has been received by the City Liberal Clnb from Lord Rosebery, declaring that he would never voluntarily re-enter party politics. The cleavage of the party was permanent. It was impossible to conduct the party on the principles of Issachar. The Liberals would only become a power when their mind was made up on Imperial questions. The whole Empire had rallied on the war. The Liberals took up the impossible attitude of neutrality, and an open mind spelt impotence. The D .tin NiW* urges the Liberals not to listen to Lord Rosebery's wrecking counsels.
