Porangahau Racing Club's Annual Meeting. [BY OUR SPECfAL REPORTER.) The annual meeting of the Porangahau Racing Club was held yesterday, and from a sporting point of view proved very enjoyable. Unfortunately the weather was threatening, and this no doubt prevented many persons irom being present, the attendance being only moderate. The fields in the majority of instances were small, but the racing was extremely interesting, and the finishes were close and exciting. Speculation was not very brisk, the totalisator investments being limited to £1099. The officials of the club worked hard to ensure the meeting being a success, and their efforts in this direction were greatly appreciated. Following are the results of the racing:—

DECEMBER STAKES, Of 20 soys ; 5 lurlonge. Mr E. J. White's Borax, 8-3 (F. Stowe) 1 Mr D. L. Hughes's Jingle, 8-9 (P. Raynor) ... ••• 2 Mr H. Connop's Miss Wester, 8-7 (T. Coniiop) ... ... ... .. 3 Scratched — Seraphine, Rotomahana, Sasin. A poor start. Borax led all the way, winning easily, pulling up. Smoker fell and broke his leg.
