The scope of the enquiry of St. Mary's (Jommisaion has been extended by the Government to 6ve years, although the Charitable Aid Board definitely stated by wire on Saturday that they were satisfied with the enquiry and did not ''press for an extension. Mr Wardell ,jmit to Wellington last Friday and has ■:iaot returned. Mr Bush sits to-morrow morning, and announces by advertisement that, the Commission will be prepared to hear further evidence on any complaints relating to the institution within the extended period of the Commission. It is probable that the Board will not take any further action, but to-day being a close holiday here no decision is yet available.
