London, Aug. 5.
As the result of his engagement with the Boers at Magliesberg, between Pretoria and Rustenburg, Major-General Hamilton captured seventeen Boers. They declared that they received only soft-nosed bullets, and in consequence the wounds received by the British during the fight are serious. Lord Roberts is remonstrating with Commandant Botha for allowing the use of soft-nosed bullets.
