Baiton, caretaker of the Botanical Gardens, for a new lawnmower, wus referred to the Publio Works Committee. PUBLIC WOEK3 COATMtTIEK's BEJEOUT. The following recommendations were contained in the ispurt of tho Publio Works Committee :— • 1. Mrs Goodwoa'a Complaint, Kelaall road—That 6 inch pipes be laii iv front of the gate and a diehed concrete drain across tho bottom of the road aud from there 6inch pipes through Mr Simmond's garden into the roadway of Lucknow-termee; cost not to exceed £7 5s 2. Draioage Mr Holt's Rousea, Bridge street —That a 6-inoh pipe be carried along Bridge street from corner Lever street; cost not to exceed £8 Sj. 3. Streets at Hpit, Napier Harbor Board —'Ihat the Napier j-larbor Board be notified that no ttreet can be taken over by the Council until it shall have been properly formed and raiee. , ! to its permanent level. 4. Lease of T S z> o 513 (part)— That no alteration in terms of lease csn be allowed, and that if fresh conditions are required the lease must be again put up t) ai/ciion. 5 New Oemstery, Suitable Bite.—That as no suitable eitocan be found available at present, tL • inat'er be allowed to stand over for cix months G. Spit Fire Brigade Quarterly JEiepori.— That any information as to position of mains required by the brigade can be f urnitihed them on application to the proper officer of the Council. That the Council do not consider any extension of the 6-inch main necessary, and that the turncook's house being already connocted with the town station and the high pressure water oan be turned oa at the Masonic Hotel no connection with the fcipit Brigade is neoeaeary.
