Clarke-Haggen Libel Case.
Faulty Information. Case Dismissed. [fbb pkkss association. I Pahiatua, This day. In the case of Clarke against Haggen, for criminal libel, Mr Haggon, who conducted Lie own case, contended there was a variance in tho information and affidavits. The information stated that the articles appeared in the " Woodville Kxaminer," while the affidavit stated " the Examiner newspaper, published Jit Woodviile." He quoted the case of against Wilson, in which Sir Robert Htout, foi- defendaut, raiaed a similar objection, nnd Sir Jameb Prendergast dismissed tho case. Tho Bench, after consideration dismissed the case without prejudice, with costs to defendant. Prosecutor's counsel stated that a frosh information would be laid to-day.
