The b'igivntine Aratupu, 122 tons, Oapain Craucli, arrived in the bay last night rom Newcastle, N.S.W., and was towed 0 the breastwork by the Ahuiiri this moruog. She left Newcastle on tho 10th met., ,nd brings 178 tons of coal for Messrs 3ranby and Prebble. Captain Crauch retorts having been in company with the 'endle Hill in Cooks Straits, and she should .rrive at any moment. The ketch Comet, Captain Kruell, arrived his morning from Timaru, after a run of 1 hours from that port. She brings a targo of breadstuffs for Messrs Granby and Prebble. . A heavy sea is breaking on tho __Wairoa )ar, and consequently the p.s. To Kapudid lot leave for that port this morning as mended. If favorable advice is received, nhe vill leave to-morroj7 morning. The New Zealand Shipping Company's !.8. Tongariro arrived at Jfort Chalmers at .0.30 last night from Hobart. The s.s Kahu is advised as having left 3astlepoint this morning at 7.30, on her sray here. The s s. Pakeba arrived at Timaru at 3.30 this morning, but nothing definite is mown now by her agents, Messrs Murray, Roberts, and Co., when she is likely to irrive here. The loss of tho s.s. Elginshire is doubtless tho cause of the uncertain movements of the carj.o steamers at present. The Te Anau left Sydney for Auckland yesterday.
