Wellington, This day. A number of small Bills will be prooeeded with to-night, bo as to afford a work for the Legislative Counoil. In reply to a telegram from the Auokland Chamber of Commerce anentthe San Francisco mail service, the Acting-Premier has telegraphed that in communicating with the Agent-General he hasreceivednoenceuragemeht, and it is now hopeless to expect the service to be renewed, so that the Government will have to make the best possible arrangements for carrying on the mail service.
It is rumored hore that during the present strike the Union Company's steamers will discontinue calling at Hobart.
The Hon. Mr McLean left for Dunedin yesterday in connection with the labor troubles.
The Oddfellows of Hawke's Bay, _Manobester" Unity, recently petitioned the House complaining of the strictures cast on their Order by the report of Dr. Macgregor. The Petitions Committee, M to Z, will report this afternoon that the allegations set forth in the petition are not sustained.
