(Received August 19, 10 a.m.) THE MELBOURNE STRIKE. London, August 18. The Dockers Union have expressed their sympathy with the Melbourne strike. GERMANY AND AUSTRIA. It is asserted that General Caprivi and Count Kalnoky will shortly visit England to interview Lord Salisbury. PRIMROSE LEAGUE. The Primrose League have presented Lady Jersey with a souvenir prior to her departure for New South Wales. GERMANY AND RUSSIA. The Emperor of Germany and General Caprivi, on their arrival at Revel, were accorded a brilliant ovation. The Czar and M. de Giers met the distinguished visitors at Narva. ARMENIA. A Turkish Commission has been appointed to enquire into tho causes of trouble and the existing state of affairs in Armenia. NORTHERN QUEENSLAND. Baron de Worms, in answer to a question in the House of Commons, said he had been advised that aH Act of Parliament was necessary before Northern Queensland could secure separation and become a colony.
