Crushing on the now Kuaotunu goldfield still continues at an average of fivo or six ounces to the ton. Last week tho sixth yield was 133 ounces from 30 tons. A return has just come to hand of 84 pounds of Puhi Puhi stono treated at tho Clydo Ore Crushing aud Chlorinating Works, Sydney. Tho result was Odwt Bgr of gold, 119o_ lGdwt 22gr of silver to tho ton. Messrs P. S. Brown and J. D. Mackenzie go on Monday t_ Wellington. Tho latter is a pioneer prospector of Waireki. They wanted to take a brick of silver with them, but a watchmaker bought it and is working it into rings aud ornaments. They will, however, tako tho first gold obtained from tho Caledonian.
