His men have died wholesale from starvation. EMPEROR OF GERMANY. Tho Kmporor William wilt visit King Humbert in October. The two Sovereigns will meet at Monza, in North Italy, where they will spend a week. Tho Emperor will then go on to Athens, and attend the marriage of tho Duko Sparta. BENEFICIAL RAINS. Beneficial rains have fallen in Russia, which have so improved tho crops that nil; fears aro dispelled regarding tho failuro of the harvest. SUNDAY SCHOOLS CON\ T ENTION. Tho Lord Mayor of London has received 600 delegates of tho World's Sunday School* Convention. M. PASTEUR'S TREATMENT. It has been resolved at a public meeting to establish a Mansion Houso fund for the relief of poor patients bitten by mad dogs, to enable them to be sent to Paris to be treated by M. Pasteur. RAILWAY CONSTRUCTION. The Northern Pacific Railway Company propose to construct a line westward to tho ocean direct from Manitoba. THE MARKETS. The wheat and flour afloat for the United Kingdom total 1,1)72,000 quarters, and for the Continent 216,000 quarters ; tho American visible supply is 15,375,000 bushels. New Zealand mutton is quoted at Gfd per lb. Leather, SJd to 9d.
