A serious fire broke out in High-street at I.IjU this moruiug, by whiuh Buri-uclough's butcher's shop, fcSiuton's drapery store, and Pritchard's chemist's shop were totally destroyi-d. Davidson's general fature and dwelling were cleared out, and great

damage was done to the goods. The total loss is estimated at £5000. Tho iusurances known aro—Sutton's stock, value £2000, iusured for £1000 in the Standard; Pritchard's stock, valued at £1500, insured f«r £250 in the Standard, and £500 in tho North German; Crozier's buildings, let to Meyers Barraolough. and Sutlon, werp insured for £300 in the Phoenix. The iaenranee on Pritohard's building is unknown.
