We notice that the breakwater contractor has commenced reclamation of tho site opposite tho Harbor Board offices. The Harbor Board's new forty-five ton crane is being put together very rapidly by Messrs Anderson, and will be in readiness for a test within tho next fortnight. A box for contributions to the hospital will be placed in tho lecture-room tomorrow afternoon, on the occasion of Dr. Preston's lecture. Messrs W. M. Newton and Co., of Hastings-street, have on view in the shop adjoining their premises, and lately occupied by tho Bun Marchi', a fine exhibition of crockery, of all descriptions. There may also be seen in the enino window a collection of New Zenhmd grown oranges, from the Waircre Orchard, Whunearei, Auckland, comprising I'lusters of St. Michael, Siletta, Navel, and Parruniatta oranges, also Bengal citron. Tho United Methodists are making preparations for holding another of their pleaeaut coffee suppers on Thursday, August 2nd, and we foel sure that the coming one will be of such a character as to fully maintain tho Free Mothodists' reputation as caterers for tho public enjoyment.
