Messrs F. W. Williams and Kettlo report as follows:—Wo opened a huge catalogue of wool, sheepskins, tallow, and hides, at our sale-room, on Wednesday last. All tho ■wool buyers ,were in attendance, and tliero ■was an active demand for all quantities at prices equal to those at our last sale. Sheepskins, which were mado up mostly of oonntry dry consignments, with a few parcels from local butchers; crossbreds realised 3d to s§d, hoggeta, 2>}d to 6\d, merino, 3fid to 5 Jd; w001—27 bales of pieces, daggins, &c., realised from 3gd to s|d; black wool, 6d; odd lota of fleece, in bags, realised up to 5Jd. Hides—ll2 prime heavy •weights, 4d; light weights, 2sd to 3d; calfskins, 3d. Our noxt sales will take place on 6th Juno.
The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Company report as follows .-—There was the usual attendance at our Spit sale-room on Wednesday, and tho different lots submitted elicited good competition. Greasy croeebred breechings sold at 4d ; greasy looks, 2Jd; scoured merino, lid; scoured merino pieces, o}d ; crossbred skins, up to 6|d, half-bred akins, up to s|d. Hides, 3M. Our next sale will bo held on tho Gth pf June.
