Tho U.S.S. Company's s.s.* Omapere, 352 tons, Coptain R. E. Smith, arrived in the bay at 1.30 a.m., aud came alongside the breastwork at 6.30 a.m. to-day. She left Dunedin at 4.30 p.m. on the 21st, arriving in Timaru at 8 a.m. on the 22nd ; sailed again same day at 5 p.m., and reached Lyttelton at 6 a.m. on the 23rd, loft again at noon, and passed pape Palliser at 6 a.m. on the 24th, amvingaa above. Experienced light variable winds and smooth sea.

The s.s. Wairoa left for Wairoa yesterday at 11 a.m., taking a number of excursionists.

The 8.8. Australia steamed yesterday for East Coast and Auckland.

The s.s. Kiwi arrived from Wellington this morning, and returns this evening. ' The Suva came alongside the breastwork at 1.30 p.m. to-day. She will discharge her cargo this afternoon, and sail for Wellington at 5.30 p.m. The Maiaroa is behind time, and will not arrive from south until Tueriday. She proeoeds northward the same day. The Rotomahana should arrive at daylight to-morrow, and will steam for Wellington and south in the afternoon. Tho" last launch for passengers will leavo the wharf at 2 o'clock.

The breastwork presents a very busy appearance to-day, as the Kahu, Omapero, and Kiwi are all discharging. The Kahu's cargo consists principally of grain, and those of the Omapere and Kiwi of goneral merchandise. f PER PRESS ASSOCIATION— COFTRMHT.]
