It is bordering , on the sublimely ridiculous for our morning contemporary to assert that it was owing to the parsimony of tho Corporation in restricting its advertisements to one paper that so few ratepayers went to the poll on the load option question. The Herald would make out that the people did not know anything about a poll being taken because the advertisement appeared only iv the Daily Teleurai-h. It is a funny commentary on its remarks, however, that when tho advertisement appeared in the Herald only some 35 ratepayers recorded their votes, whereas last Thursday, when the advertisement was restricted to the Daily Telegraph, half the available ratepayers on tho roll went to the poll. Tins fact quite justifies the Corporation in its action.
