The case of J. 11. Vautier v. D. lalvey came on for hearing at the R.M. Court this morning. There was a claim for £4, for rent, defendant admitted £2 10s. Mr Lee appeared for the defendant. The K.M. gave judgment for the amount due with costs Gs.

At the R.M. Court to-day Christian Wilson was charged on the information of his wife, with failing to provide for her and her five children with adequate means ot support. After hearing the evidence the R M. made an order for defendant to pay the sum of seventeen shillings and sixpence per week for the maintenance of his wife and family. Mr Daniel has transferred the H.B. agency of the Equitable Life of the United Stales to Messrs Baker aud Lnbutcau. Did not start the store till some years after ho commenced business. Was in partnership with Mr J. O'Brien. Had about £50 between them and borrowed £-.W. The partnership lasted two years, and *Jio business was paying then, Mr O'Brien ' taking £011 away with him. Never kept accounts which showed what they were making.
