New Zealand securities are at the following quotations:—s per cent 10.40 loan, 100£; 4£ per cent 1879-1904 loan, lOOi; 4 per cent*inscribed stock, 93-J- ex div. The market rate of discount has been reduced by I to 2g, and is now l£ per cent below tho Bank rate. Adelaide wheat, ex store, 39/- ; Adelaide flour, ex store, 28/- ; New Zealand wheat, e„ store. 32/- to 37/-.
Tallow and hides are unaltered. (Received May 6, 2.20 a.m.) Melbourne, May 5
The Melbourne manager of the National Mortgage and Agency Company (limited) of New Zealand reports on the local grain market as follows :—Shipping wheat is quoted at 3/11 to 4/-, to effect sales low prices must be accepted; malting barley very sluggish at 3/6 to 4/5 ; New Zealand oats, feed sorts arc quieter at 2/9 to 2/11: ditto milling are quieter, but steady at 3, - to 3/2; New Zealand oats, under bond, 2/to 2/3 ; rye grass seed in fair demand at 3/9 to 4/6.
