ARRIVALS. May 6—Silver Cloud, three-masted schooner, from Newcastle, N.S.W.

The s.s. Kiwi, which has been detained in port for the last two days by southerly weather, steamed for Wellington via the coast at noon to-day. The steamer Wairoa, H. Andersen master, left for Wairoa on her return passage at 9.40 a.m. this day, and should arrive in port early this afternoon. Mr J. H. Vautier's three-masted schooner Silver Cloud, Capt. Charles Balle, anchored in the roadstead at 8 o'clock this morning from Newcastle, N.S.W., after a rough passage of ten days, having experienced a succession of southerly gales throughout the run. She reports having left Newcastle on the 25th April, sighted Cape Farewell last Sunday evening, sighted a German barque (nameunknown), and shipped a sea which smashed her long boat up, in running through the Straits. The Cloud is to be tendered in the roadstead by the schooner Waiwera for some 65 tons of coal this afternoon, after which she will be brought inside to discharge the remainder, which is for her owner.

The steam launch Bella is to get away for Wairoa and Mohaka at 1 a.m. to-morrow morning. The Union Co.'s s.s. Suva was to have left Wellington at 3 p.m. to-day, being due here to-morrow, and being announced to steam on her course northwards on Friday.

The s.s. Go-Ahead, Captain Plumley, left Wellington at 5 o'clock last evening, and is due here to-night or to-morrow morning. The brigantine, Lizzie Guy, has almost completed her loading of her cargo of hewn sleepers for Oamaru. The s.s., Orawaiti, is able to lie alongside the ship Mataura in the roadstead to-day, and is proceeding with the transhipment of her cargo of coal. Tho U.S.S. Company's s.s., Waihora, Captain Edie, is a day late coining down the coast, and will not arrive here before Sunday next. The schooner Waiwera went out to the Silver Cloud in the roadstead at midday today to tranship some 05 tons of coal for Gisborne.

The U.S.S. Company's s.s., Omapero, from the South will not arrive here before the 13th instant.
