PROGRESS OF WELLINGTON-MANA-WATU RAILWAY.

Wellington, This day.

The annual roport of the WellingtonManawatu Railway Company shows that since last meeting fifty miles of line have been let, and the contractors have made such good progress with the Avorks that without doubt tho six miles between Wellington and Johnsonvillo may bo opened for traffic in September next. The company has accepted the tender of Mr Seymour, of Auckland, for the construction of eight miles of Hue at the Otaki end of tho bridge over tho Ohau river, the price being £8000.
