DEATH UNDER PECULIAR CIRCUMSTANCES.

An elderly woman named Hamlin died at the hospital under peculiar circumstances last nisrht. She is a resident of Stokes Valley Upper Hntt, and on the 30th ultimo, when entering her house, a lad fired a gun. There was no shot in the gun, but the powder lodged in her left arm above the wrist. Amputation was found necessary, but the poor old lady succumbed under the operation. Shu was aged 70, It is not yet kown under what circumstances the gun was fired, but the police have gone out to ascertain.
