NAPIER HOSPITAL COMMITTEE.

The following is the continuation of our yesterday's report : — CORRESPONDENCE. From the Colonial Secretary's Office, stating that the £1300 asked for towards the cost of furnishing the new additions to the hospital could not be voted out of the Parliamentary grant for buildings.—A reply by the Chairman was read, pointing out that, if furnishing could not be charged to building account, it must be charged to maintenance, in which case the Government should pay. The Napier Borough Council and "Wairoa County Council wrote notifying that £100 and £40 had been paid respectively to the hospital building fund. From the Colonial Secretary's Department, declining to pay a voucher for £53 Ms Sd for crutches, traps, plumbing, &c, on the ground that it was not for maintenance. —Tho Department to be written to again on the matter. RATION , ACCOUNTS. A desultory discussion took place on the manner in which the ration accounts were made up, but nothing was done, as it was considered advisable to leave the matter for tho incoming committee to deal with. THE HUITiDINO I'UND. A suggestion that there should bo a dcmonstrM ; fV! on the opening of the new wing wa.-i nut favorably received, and the matter dropped.
