The floating of the uoav Mortgage Company, with a capital of £2,000,000, has largely exceed the expectations of the promoters of tho company, as the applications for shares from all portions of the colony arc far in excess of any number that can be allotted, even if the entire 100,000 shares Avere issued instead of 50,000 as originally intended. It is not knoAvn what action the directors \\ ill take to meet the demand for shares, but probably a larger number will be issued than avus contemplated. Even then applicants cannot by any means receive the number of shares applied for.
