MUNICIPAL PUBLIC WORKS RECOMMENDATIONS.

The Municipal Public Works Committee, at the meeting last night, passed the following recommendations: —

I. That the duties of the consulting engineer as previously submitted to tho Council be now authorised.

2. That Mr Raven's resignation as poundkeeper bo accepted, and that applications bo invited for the appointment.

3. That the Council decline to accopfc either tender for the Borough endowment at AVoodviile,- but recommend it bo advertised again, Avith the addition of a clause to compensate the tenant for permanent improvements at the end of his lease to the amount of £2000 or under, to bo estimated by valuation.

4. That Mr Palmer's request re {building regulations be allowed.
