Auckland, This day. Miilmki and his followers were found guilty of assaulting and "wounding" a native named To Haere, ono of Mv Hursthouse's party. Miihuki completely ignored the whole of the proceedings. The jury ulso returned a verdict of guilty against. Mahuki and his followers for assault on A[r, Aubin, storekeeper, and acquitted them on the charge of riot at Alexandra. The other chaises were withdrawn by the Crown Prosecutor. Mahuki and Tini Hamilton -wore sentenced to twelve mouth's imprisonment with hard labor, I'u l'utiihi and Xgawaaro to niue months'. Mahuki said that the sentence was just, but that God and Te AVhiti had power to save him. llokitika, Friday. Fergusson and Dunlo]) have been acquitted of the charge of cattle-stealing. The charge against James AVylde of embezzling £2 10s was heard, and resulted in a verdict of not guilty.
