This day. Tho drill shod commissioners have telegraphed inviting His Excellency the GoA'ernor to open the new Garrison Hall here on his visit in March next. The building is one of the largest in Noav Zealand, and is nearly completed. It has a floor space of 100 foot by GO, and is surrounded by convenient rooms for the staff officers, officer's servants, band, and gun room, etc. Tho cost is nearly £3000. At the request of the volunteer officers Major Thomson also wires to the Defence Minister asking permission to hold the annual a .lunteer review hero.
