December 27. The Herald is authorised to contradict the statement re Te Whiti ordering, through his son, the natives back to Parihaka. Although Te Whiti's son has visited his father several times in gaol, it has been in the presence of the gaoler and an interpreter, and no conversation has been allowed between the two except referring to personal and family matters.
