The trial of Guieteau continues. The prisoner was examined by counsel at great length to-day, and in his replies he detailed the impulses which led him to commit the crime, and ascribed the same to the Deity.
At the Tariff Convention now sitting at New York, the delegates of twentyfive States have made speeches in favor of inoreased protection being afforded through the tariff to local industry.
