I have examined the Samplk of 51'Ewin's Rotti/bd Alb submitted to me, and find that it contains - Alcohol by weight, 540 per cent; or by volume, 6 - 55 per cent. Extractive maUer, 306 per cent.; Acid matter, 017 per cent. I have also examined the Alb for such deleterious ingredients as are sometimes added to Beer, and have found no ind'eation of their presence. The three first conditions laid down by the Com- | mittee for Wines and Beers for the late International Exhibition, as those to which especial prominence would be given, were—lst, Low alcoholic per centa^e: 2nd, Freedom from acidity ; 3rd Absence of fusel oil; and all thc:e are fulfilled in th sample.
