The three-masted sobooner Silver Cloud, Capt. Cliarlps Bnlle, was towed outside by tbe s.s. Sir at *7 o'clock this mornincr, and sailed for Newcastle, N.W.S.. in ballast taking two pneseno;ers. The s.s. Rotorua, Captain J. Tozev, from Melbourne via Southern ports arrived in the roadstead shortly before 11 o'clock this morning. t c -he reports having left Port Chalmers at 5.30 p.m. on Wednesday, arriving in Lyttelton at il a.m. on Thursday; sailed again at 5.30 p.m., arriving in Wellington at 11 a.m. on Friday ; sailed again tit 4 p.m., arriving as above. Experienced fine weather to Ivaikouras, and from thence to Wellington fresh north winds, and from thence fine weather. Her cargo, some 40 tons, is being transhipped into the ketch Admiral. Her advertised time of departure foi* Northern ports is 4 p.m. We have to thank Mv G-.' Macfarlane, her purser, for report and files. The s.s. TCesult, Captain Baxter, returned from Wairoa at 3.30 p.m. yesterday, bringing three passengers and a cargo of maize, wool, nnd sundries. The s.s. Maori's departure for Wairoa and Mohalca has been postponed until tomorrow night. The s.s. Fairy is loading for Mahia, and will prohtiblv sail to-night. A brigantine was sighted as we went to press, which will probably prove to be the Eliza and Mary from Duneclin. The first of this season's clip of wool arrived at tbe port yesterday from Mr J. N. Williams' "Frimley station to the order of Mr F. W. Williams,
