In response to Major Withers' advertisement, about seventy men mustered at the drill-shed this morning. Twelve were selected, and Major Withers has telegraphed to Wellington for further instructions.
One hundred and twenty pounds was realised from the amateurs' performance last night in aid of the Jews in Russia.
The Wade perjury case came on at the Police Court this morning, but was again adjourned for eight days.
There are likely to be several actions against the Government for the deprivation of the water frontage by the reclamation works.
