CHRISTCHURCH.
September 30. The Press states this morning that the Hon J. Hall will not seek re-election for Leeston, but will offer bimself for the representation of the Selwyn district. Mr Maxwell had an interview with the railway men on strike this morning. After hearing the statement of the men, Mr Maxwell informed them he was sorry he could not recommend the Government to make any alterations in the scale of wages.
