DEPARTURES,

May 18 —Result, s.s., for Wairoa. Passengers — Mr and Mrs Porter, Mrs Carter, and two others. 18 —Fairy, s.s., for Mahia. 19 —Reliance, ketch, for Gisborne.

The s.s. Result, Capt. W. E. Baxter, steamed for Wairoa at 10 o'clock last night, taking a good cargo and several passengers. Tbe ketch Reliance, Capt. Lauson, sailed for Gisborne in ballast at eleven o'clock this morning. . The steamer Fairy, Captain J. Campbell, sailed for Mahia at a late hour- last night, taking a full cargo of timber and general merchandise. . The s.s. Maori, Captain H. Anderson, leaves for Wairoa at about 10 o'clock tonight, taking passengers and cargo, The s.s. Go-Ahead, Captain George C. Hart, left Wellington last evening, and may be expected to arrive here at an early hour to-morrow morning. She is advertised to steam for Wellington and Lyttelton tomorrow at noon. The cutter Clara leaves to-night for Mohaka with a full general cargo, should a favorable report of the bar at that place be received this afternoon.

The steamer Kiwi, Captain Jas. Campbell, still ranks" auiong the'expecteds, as she did not ptifc lrt; an appearance this rnorning r although telegraphed as having left Wellington last Monday night at 12' o'clock, and has not yet called a : t either Castlo Point or Cape Turnngain. -' The Union Company's • gtefiiimers movements are as under :-—'l he s.s. Rotorud was te have left Auckland about midday today, and should arrive here at daylight on Saturday morning, sailing South at 11 a.m. The s.s. Albion is to leave Wellington to-morrow afternoon, and may be looked here at about midday on Saturday, sailing at 4 o'clock for Northern ports.
