Telephone communication between Port Chalmers and the Heads was established yesterday.
A company has 'been launched with a c?pital of £15,000 to work the Waitahuna copper miue. It has met with favor, and the shares are being rapidly taken up. The Minister for Public Works, it is understood has decided to lease the railway workshops at Port Chalmers, where a valuable plant is standing idle.
