At'Portobello two children, aged four and two years respectively, have died under peculiar circumstances. Dr. Brown, who was attending them, says death is the result of blood poisoning from glanders communicated by a horse, but enquiries instituted by the police have failed to discover any horse so diseased in the locality. Three' declarations of insolvency have been filed, during the week.

The Bruce Herald gives currency to a report that Mr C. S. Reeves will probably be a candidate for Bruce at the general election.
