CRICKET MATCHES.

The Hawke's Bay County and the Waipawa town cricket Clubs played a match at Hastings on Saturday, the former winning by 59 runs. A cricket match between elevens of the Petane and the Herald Clubs was played at Petane on Saturday. The Herald men went to the wicket and were all out for 84, Mullany, Sampson, Freeman, Laurence, going into double figures. The bowling on the Petane side was poor in the extreme, and their fielding loose. The Petane men were only able to get together 64, and it being only a one innings match the Herald team were winners by 20 runs.
