January. 27—Ethel, brigantine, for Newcastle, N.S.W. Passengers—Messrs Richard Young, Thomas Chadwick, William Chadwick, William Walsh, David Walsh, John Smith, John Keeson, and Goorge J. Reams.

The s.s. Kiwi, Capt. Campbell, arrived from Wellington at an early hour this morning, arid was brought inside soon afterwards. " She left Wellington on Wednesday at 5 o'clqek ; arrived at Castle Point next morning*; discharged some cargo, and landed passengers and mails, and left at one o'clock. She brings a full cargo, including a large quantity of transhipments exHurunui and Anfares, two locomotive engines for the Railway Department, and a large threshing machine for Mr Bobert Wellwood. She is not to leave for Wellington before to-morrow afternoon at 4 o'clock. The s.s. Sir Donald leaves for Fairy Bay to-night with a full load of timber. The s.s. Result-, Captain Baxter, leaves for the Wairoa at 8 o'clock to-morrow morning. The barque Loch Elect was taken over to the ballast ground by the Pilot yesterday afternoon, where she will discharge 100 tons of ballast before taking in wool for London. The s.s. Rotorua will arrive here at an early hour to-morrow morning, sailing again for the South and Melbourne at 10. a.m. She brings 50 tons of cargo for this port. The Union Company's s.s, To Anau is not due here before Sunday morning, and will sail again at 4 o'clock. The brigantine Ethel, Captain Wyatt, sailed yesterday afternoon in ballast for Newcastle, New South Wales. She took a number of passengers, including the crew of the Silver Cloud. '1 he s.s. Go-Abend's departure for Wellington lias been postponed until 4 o'clock this afternoon, in ordor to take some sheep for the coast.
