January 18. The Harbor Board's receipt for 1880 amounted to £838,814, and the exportation to £82.419. Last years balance of £129,127 has been reduced to £462. During the year .'502,000 cubic yards were dredged at an average cost of Gs 4d, and .102,000 yards were reclaimed at an average cost of 11 J per yard. Auston.Scott's trainer, accepts Ed wards challenge for a walking match. At the Crown lands sale to-day 4164 acres of pastoral land in the Silver Peak district were sold at the up set price of 20s per acre.
