AUCKLAND.

January 18

The schooner Myrtle has just arrived. She brings news of the wreck at Tonga of the Auckland brigantine Active. The vessel drifted ashore at Samoa in a calm and became a total wreck. The passengers and crew, and the original cargo from Auckland, were all saved. The wreck was sold to Mr Sorenson for £30. The Active was owned by Lane and Brown, of Whangaroa, and M'Arthur and Co., of Auckland, and was insured in the ISTew Zealand office for £760, and in the Union for £350.
