Nonpareil Company. — The fomth hundred pounds of stone taken from this mine have been crushed at the Tramway machine, and the retorting was finished this morning. The return is in excess of what was expected by nearly 200z., and places the rate per ton at loz. 2dwt., a liberal margin being allowed for loss in smelting. The retorted weight was 117oz. llie condition of the mine is altogether satisfactory. Ten head of the Waiotahi | machine are working for the mine, and negotiations for the permanent engagement , of five 'head of the Tiamway machine arc 1 pending. There are about 120 tons in paddock.
